Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced ABAP Developer to provide high-level expertise in supporting and enhancing Navy ERP’s SAP requirements and architecture. This role involves applying deep functional and technical knowledge to critical initiatives, focusing on the design, configuration, and automation of SAP FI business processes—including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, cash management, and posting periods. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in both SAP configuration and ABAP development within defense or federal environments. Requirements Primary Responsibilities Perform SAP ABAP development, performance tuning, and debugging across SAP Financial modules. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to job scheduling, execution, monitoring, and error handling. Collaborate with stakeholders to manage RFCs, defect tracking, workflow coordination, and PI/PO integrations. Contribute to full lifecycle SAP implementation and post-production support, primarily within SAP Financials and SAP Supply modules. Conduct issue analysis, participate in functional testing, and ensure smooth integration across SAP disciplines. Required Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering, including system design, development, and implementation across diverse platforms. At least 5 years of hands-on SAP experience, including multi-disciplinary support and post-go-live environments. Proficient in SAP FI module configuration and business process design for financial operations and reporting. Solid ABAP programming skills, with the ability to debug and enhance complex applications. Demonstrated success resolving functional and integration issues across various SAP modules. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; alternatively, an Associate's degree with 2+ additional years of relevant experience may substitute. Must hold an active DoD Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) or Navy ERP systems and architectural standards. Previous experience supporting federal or defense IT projects. Understanding of change management procedures and tools. In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including: Requirements gathering Analysis and design Development and documentation Unit, functional, and user acceptance testing Deployment and post-go-live support Maintenance of both standard and custom SAP solutions
