Hello interested buyers, up for sale is my 2001 Toyota Corolla LE. The Corolla has 156,970 miles on it. My goal is to sell this car with transparency to someone that understands and is comfortable with the risks of buying a high mileage old car. Any issues with the car have existed since the beginning of my ownership (Almost 2 years), and I have been able to daily drive it. Pros: - Consistent Oil Changes (including previous ownership) - Transmission Fluid Flush (no issues, shifts smooth) - A/C system works well - Comes fitted with Michelin tires (helps with traction in an old car) - Also comes with brand new Bridgestone Blizzak tires ($500 in value) - No check engine light, or engine codes, feel free to bring your OBD2 sensor to check (the car has also been inspected and checked for any codes). - The car has been inspected with no major issues to my knowledge other than a consistent oil burn (common issue in this model). - It’s a Toyota. Cons (Full Transparency): - The car burns oil, despite consistent oil changes (This is a common issue for this model and can be for older cars in general, people may not disclose this during a sale). The rate of oil burning has been consistent and has NOT increased during my ownership. - The gas gauge is not always accurate (it resets on a full tank of gas, but I still tag it on the odometer when I get gas to measure how much I have driven). - The car needs brakes. I recommend towing. There are some auto shops around the corner that you can take the car to. - Old car. Questions/Answers Q: How much oil does the car burn and how do you maintain it? A: The burn rate is about 3 quarts between oil changes, but this has NOT increased. I consistently top off the car between oil changes with a funnel (which can be provided) and disposable gloves. The oil costs ~$20 for 5 quarts of Mobile 1 Synthetic. I will also provide oil. It takes 5 minutes to top off. Q: The car is burning 3 quarts of oil? Does that mean the car is on its way out? A: If you look up the same model on reddit, blogs, or other media there are examples of this car running 200,000+ miles while burning oil. Overall it’s an old car and it’s a risk Q: The car needs brakes? Can I drive it home? A: I recommend towing it. At your own risk you can take it around the corner to a few shops. I received a quote for around $900 with tax to get the brakes and rotors done. Q: What’s your goal with selling the car? A: When I bought the car, the previous owner unfortunately didn’t tell me that the car burned oil. My previous car burned oil so I was comfortable topping it off. My goal is to sell this car to someone that is comfortable topping off oil between oil changes and with the risks of an old car like I was. Q: I’m comfortable with the risks but I am not as comfortable topping off the oil. Can you show me? A: Yes! I have the funnel and oil and I can show you how to top it off (pretty simple takes 5 minutes). Thank you for reading! Please contact me with your name and number. Feel free to ask any questions. Price is $2100 OBO The car includes the following accessories: - Brand new Bridgestone Blizzak tires ($500 in value) - Mobil1 oil (high mileage synthetic) - Windshield wipers and fluid (brand new) - Metal steering wheel lock (The Club LX)
