The Buyer will provide ownership for purchases made by the organization which will include vendor evaluation and inventory management. We are seeking an individual with great attention to detail, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. The Buyer is responsible for procuring direct materials from overseas suppliers to support production at multiple sites. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, accurate forecasting, and consistent supplier performance across multiple commodities.  *Candidates must be able to work on site in Roselle, IL * Responsibilities Generate purchase orders from planned MRP demand across multiple commodities and overseas suppliers. Review inventory levels and adjust Kanban stocking targets Work with the Sourcing Manager to help develop and implement cost-saving initiatives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and resolving any issues that arise. Monitor and analyze inventory levels to optimize purchasing decisions and maintain appropriate stock levels. Monitor supplier on-time delivery performance and lead monthly root cause analysis (RCAs) for delivery “fails”; drive corrective action plans (CAPs). Work closely with Operations Team to ensure that materials are on hand to support all production requirements. Collaborate with S&OP Demand Planner to ensure long-lead-time materials are ordered proactively. Utilize ERP to track and monitor order status, payments, and deliveries. Resolve and escalate vendor issues, including invoice discrepancies and delivery concerns. Requirements Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field strongly preferred. 5+ years proven experience as a purchasing specialist/buyer in a manufacturing environment preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in using ERP and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work both autonomously with little direction & collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Energetic, analytical, self-motivated, dependable individual with good communication and people skills Familiarity with the INFOR ERP System a plus.
