General Role Description
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal cost, quality, and service and to meet commercial requirements
Role Accountabilities
-Â Â Â Analyze business unit needs to mitigate assigned products supply and delivery risks, recommend appropriate solutions, and implement as approved
-Â Â Â Research new equipment suppliers utilizing the Companyâs quality system
-Â Â Â Identify and recommend new suppliers to develop globally to support business unit needs and lower costs
-Â Â Â Negotiate with assigned suppliers to achieve lower material costs and on time delivery
-Â Â Â Gather data to manage performance evaluation of assigned productâs supplier and submit to manager
-Â Â Â Gather data to negotiate terms and conditions, payment terms, and other financial terms and agreements with suppliers, as requested
-Â Â Â Recommend risk assessment and abatement plan to meet budgets, targets, and schedules and provide to Sourcing Manager to present to business units
-Â Â Â Track non-conformance reports, cost of quality and prepare for supplier recovery activities
-Â Â Â Generate the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) buyerâs report that identifies the requisitions to be processed and determine order of priority
-Â Â Â Evaluate committed dates for order placement and delivery, in collaboration with business unit management
-Â Â Â Notify expeditors of orders which must be expedited in addition to those scheduled in the ERP
-   Organize supplier meetings to update business unit engineers on the latest technology and products  Â
-Â Â Â Obtain competitive quotes for equipment and material requisitions
-Â Â Â Reconcile PO and invoice discrepancies with the finance department and suppliers
-Â Â Â Initiate new supplier set-up documentation and submit to finance department
-Â Â Â Notify finance department of new âship-toâ locations of suppliers
-Â Â Â Process completed requisitions, enter data as required, and forward to Purchasing Specialist
-Â Â Â Advise project managers and business unit engineers of equipment delivery schedules in a timely manner
-Â Â Â Provide timely updates on subcontractor performance, market trends, and supplier relationships to management
-Â Â Â Ensure purchase orders are issued with correct terms to minimize cost and liability to the Company

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
-Â Â Bachelorâs degree in related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience
-Â Â 2 years of experience purchasing in an industrial or commercial environment
-Â Â 1 year of experience sourcing new suppliers
-Â Â Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
-Â Â Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
-Â Â Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
-Â Â Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and ERP
-Â Â Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 10%, sometimes with limited notice
Preferred Qualifications
-Â Â 1 year of experience negotiating agreements
-Â Â Purchasing experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency, international, industrial environmentÂ
-Â Â Advanced Excel skills
-Â Â Proficiency in Oracle
