Peaceful 12'x16' cabin plus sleeping loft w/ kitchenette in exchange for 8 hours of work weekly, plus maintaining the area around the cabin, parking area, and path to the shower. Laundry and hot shower on site. Great view, no streetlights/great night sky, lots of bird song, peace and quiet. 10 miles past Paia. Seeking a hardworking individual with excellent communication skills and a positive can-do attitude to add a covered porch to this cabin. Work trade tasks vary and include construction, agricultural, and other tasks, which can include digging holes and digging out cane grass. We prefer worktrade, but occasionally, due to illness or family emergencies, we will accept $300 a week. Useful skills include a green thumb, animal husbandry, hunting, mechanical, small engine, chainsawing, tree trimming, fencing, painting, framing/finish carpentry, etc. We just finished replacing the floor in the cabin, and it could use a paint job inside, which would be done on worktrade time.
