Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose conditions. Administer vaccinations and medications as needed. Perform surgical procedures with precision and care. Provide emergency care for critically ill or injured animals. Utilize animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animal and staff during examinations and treatments. Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology and documentation practices. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventative health measures. Collaborate with main Dr., veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver comprehensive care. Stay current on advancements in veterinary medicine, including animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution. Proven veterinary experience with a focus on critical care preferred. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common diseases. Proficiency in animal handling techniques for various species including dogs and equines. Experience with laboratory procedures related to diagnostics in veterinary medicine. Familiarity with aseptic techniques during surgical procedures is essential. Ability to perform animal catheterization when necessary. Experience in pet grooming is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. This position is based in Burlington, Vermont. The candidate for this role must live close to our facility for emergency responses. This position reports directly to the Administrator. Job Description: The Maintenance Technician ensures the safety and comfort of our residents and staff by providing them with well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing surroundings. Compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding maintenance of the building and grounds is essential. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to ongoing maintenance, monitoring of systems, upkeep, and repair of the Residence building and grounds, including the performance and/or coordination of all needed preventative and responsive maintenance tasks. The role will supervise and lead the Housekeeping Team. Responsible for Fire Safety Training of all Ethan Allen Staff as well as fire and evacuation drill documentation. The candidate will need to demonstrate a good basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and heating and ventilation systems. They also need to able to work effectively, make sound/safe decisions, have strong problem-solving skills and be able to effectively communicate. The Maintenance Technician needs to always be thinking about Safety at all levels as they will also function as our Safety Officer. Ability to develop a clear project management plan, with actions dates, schedules for maintenance and budget requests is critical. This person must be self-motivated to ensure all maintenance is scheduled and completed within budget allowance.
