Description

About Us Awaken Therapy Center is a neuroaffirming, trauma-informed mental health agency specializing in supporting neurodivergent individuals, couples, and families. We provide a collaborative, inclusive, and flexible environment where clinicians are encouraged to show up authentically while doing meaningful work. Our team is neurodiverse — including supervisors — and we pride ourselves on providing care that honors individuality and fosters growth. We support clients ages 12 and up and emphasize working with teens, neurodivergent coaching, and relationship dynamics through an affirming lens. Position Overview We are seeking a Part-Time Associate (AMFT, APCC, ACSW) or Licensed Therapist (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) to join our team. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about working with neurodivergent teens, adults, couples, and families in both individual and relational contexts. Most sessions are conducted remotely, but the position requires the ability to work in-person at our Oakland office when needed, especially for teen clients who prefer in-person sessions. This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into full-time employment as your caseload builds. Key Responsibilities Provide individual therapy for teens and adults, with a strong focus on neurodivergent clients. Offer neurodivergent coaching and relationship support for individuals and couples. Conduct sessions both remotely and occasionally in-person at the Oakland office. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation with the support of an integrated AI note-taking system. Collaborate closely with a neuroaffirming, multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care. Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and case consultations. Qualifications Required: Active California registration or licensure as AMFT, APCC, ACSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW. Comfort working with teen clients (ages 12+), as they are an integral part of our caseload. Experience or strong interest in working with neurodivergent clients and applying a neuroaffirming lens. Willingness to work primarily remote but provide in-person sessions as needed. Availability to manage a caseload of up to 15 clients while scheduling sessions flexibly within your availability. Preferred but Not Required: Experience with couples therapy, ADHD coaching, or autism-focused work. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and relational therapy approaches. Why Join Awaken Therapy Center? Mostly Remote Work: See clients from the comfort of your home, with occasional in-person sessions. Neuroaffirming, Inclusive Team: Work alongside a neurodiverse group of clinicians and supervisors who value authenticity and collaborative care. Built-In AI Support: Use our integrated AI note-taking system to make documentation faster and easier. Opportunities for Growth: Room to build your caseload and transition to full-time if desired. Specialized Focus: Gain expertise in working with neurodivergent individuals, teens, couples, and families in an affirming space. Compensation $32-$45/hour depending on licensure and clinical experience Administrative and billing support included so you can focus on client care. How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in working with neurodivergent clients and teens to admin@awakentherapy.org.
