We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Trainer to support our Vista Care Intellectual & Developmental Disability Services operations in Southern Illinois.   LOCATION / WORK TYPE: Work Schedule: Full Time; Hybrid schedule - 2-3 days in office with a flexible work schedule. Location: This position supports Vista Care's programs across Southern Illinois. RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership and Guidance: Provide overall direction to the Operations department by mentoring, coaching, and auditing direct care staff. Medication Administration: Conduct medication administration classes and supervise the medication certification practicum for new staff members. Health Monitoring: Maintain a high level of awareness regarding the health and medical needs of the individuals supported. Provide necessary medical information to relevant parties in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Compliance and Regulation: Understand and develop practices that align with state regulations, quality standards, and other health and safety regulations. Training and Certification: Complete required classes and maintain certification in medication administration, CPR/First Aid/AED, and Positive Behavior Support training. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company information, including any information pertaining to the individuals supported. Provide nursing case management for the people receiving our services to ensure the BEST CARE possible. Complete onsite nursing assessments as needed. Communicate with the local hospital, pharmacy, and/or person’s primary care physician as needed. Complete various audits to ensure quality of care to the person receiving services. Complete all necessary documentation. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and all other necessary accreditation requirements. Be an active team member in collaboration with the nursing and operations team. Contribute positively and consistent with best practice expectations. Requirements Possess a valid nursing license issued by the State Board of Nursing. Strongly prefer candidates with previous management experience. Have prior knowledge and experience in providing nursing care to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Health conditions. Hold a valid state driver's license. Must be insurable under the company's automobile policy. Successfully pass the company's criminal background check, and employment history verification. Ability to write and correspond in a legible manner, operate general office equipment, and maintain technical skills with google. Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, bend, twist, reach, and stand on a continual basis to meet the needs of the people receiving our services Note: Vista Care provides services to individuals with mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Some individuals supported may exhibit behavioral challenges that can pose risks to employees. The RN should be prepared to handle such situations appropriately and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
