Sedulo is a modern, private wellness retreat near Joshua Tree. Stephanie, our resident culinary lead, designs dosha inspired menus in collaboration with Dr. Resham, our Ayurvedic consultant. We’re looking for a calm, organized chef or strong cook who can prep off site, arrive on time, and finish beautifully on our BBQ grill. Must be Local to Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree. On-site service required. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Prepare gourmet dishes based on menus developed by Stephanie - Handle off-site prep, safe transport, setup, and timing - Cook proteins and vegetables on our on-site BBQ grill - Plate cleanly, serve hot, and keep the area spotless - Follow all food safety and hygiene standards WHAT YOU BRING - Proven experience cooking and delivering high-quality meals - Strong logistics skills for prep, transport, and timing - Clear, professional communication and a tidy work style - Current CA Food Handler or SERV Safe, or willingness to obtain quickly - Ability to prep in a permitted kitchen (commissary or your own) - Retreat or wellness experience is a plus, not required SCHEDULE - Contract per retreat date - Typical service window is early morning, lunchtime, and evening, plus off-site prep COMPENSATION - 1099 contract. - Day rate based on experience - Paid prep time - Paid trial cook before first booking - Other terms negotiable.
