We’re looking for Baristas to work at the Museum Espresso bar kiosk. Staff will be able to cross-train in both areas though all Muse. Kiosk and MUSE staff also have the opportunity to work on select catering events. Catering operations include events at Crush Bistro, The Anchorage Museum, The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, and occasional off-site events. Kiosk barista duties include: Making coffee and drinks Working the register Stocking and selling of food items Stocking, cleaning, opening, and closing duties Communicating with kitchen staff about food needs for the kiosk Qualified candidates will have: Experience in a fast paced restaurant setting A current Municipality of Anchorage Food Workers Card Excellent communication and organization skills Ability to adapt and remain positive in a constantly evolving work environment Flexible availability Must be at least 16 years of age Experience preferred but not required - we can teach! The Lead Cook is a full-time, paid position and will allow you to use your talents to make yummy, vegetarian meals for all our retreaters. The Lead Cook is a supportive role to the Kitchen Manager, and steps in as the lead for the kitchen in the manager's absence. The kitchen team meets both retreater and staff needs as it relates to meal service and kitchen organization. This position is a precious opportunity to share one’s culinary skills while connecting with a community of dedicated spiritual practitioners. At Vajrapani Institute, we strive to cultivate a contemplative environment and the kitchen department is at the heart of that endeavor – nourishing our staff and guests’ bodies so they have the energy to nourish their minds in spiritual growth.
