Server & Busser Job description Show up on-time, ready to work with ability to focus Clean and prepare the dining areas Stay up to date on any menu changes including the beverage list. Greet and make all guests feel welcome at the restaurant Provide excellent customer service Assist guests with ordering by answering menu questions or making recommendations upon request. Check guest’s ID if necessary to assure they are of legal drinking age. Take accurate food and drink orders using a restaurant POS system and communicate order details to the kitchen staff as needed. Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely fashion Serve food and drink orders to guests. Check in with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and correct any issues. Clear away used plates, glassware, flatware and linens and clean tables after guests have finished. Maintain a neat and clean dining area. Replenish condiments Deliver checks and process bill payments. Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines Prep for the next shift. Be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture and have required uniform and tools. Attend monthly wine class Perform other restaurant duties as assigned Keep running list of things we are low on or out of during the shift, so we can restock from the basement or reorder/communicate to captain Essential functions of server position Walking and/or standing for up to 8 hours with a 10 min rest break after every 4 hours worked Lift up to 40# without assistance Reach overhead Bend and twist Comfort on a stepladder Payscale: minimum wage plus tips
