Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and how that applies to what developers can and cannot do for the web (preferred). Passion about design in general with an understanding of critical core concepts and design fundamentals. A desire to continue learning and to keep up with the design industry. YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS: Designing unique and client-specific logos, brand guides, and design systems from scratch. Designing wireframes, website mockups and other related graphics for both desktop and mobile devices based on creative briefs and other materials. Drawing vector icons and other illustrations. Attending and participating in client meetings and working with our Digital Producers to plan how to achieve client goals through creative but proper design. Collaborating with our copywriters, SEO team, developers, and other teams to establish the vision of the project and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. Preparing design files in order to properly hand-off to developers. Ensuring that projects are completed according to schedule while effectively applying our methodology and following quality standards. Also, we often have a couple of dogs in the studio, so to reiterate, you must like dogs and kids. :) Perk if you are multi-medium disciplined, as we have both a Studio Arts Studio, as well as a Ceramics Studio, and love being able to cross over. This is a part-time job of 10-25 hours per week, which includes Saturdays and some Sundays. Our schedule shifts twice per year as we run regular weekly classes between Sept.-May, and summer camps June-Aug., so some flexibility is a must. During the school year our working hours are typically Mon-Fri 2-7:00 and Saturdays 9-3:30. During the summer we operate Mon-Fri 8:45-4:15. Established set building/custom fabrication firm seeking full time builder/carpenter/installers with cabinet making experience for set building projects, trade show booths, retail build-outs/activations and events. We are seeking experienced, motivated, and team-oriented individuals. Prior experience with set building or production fabrication is highly desired. Cabinet making skills and expert carpentry skills are mandatory. Drop Works has been a leader in set/scenic fabrication in the Bay Area for over 25 years. We design, source and fabricate scenic architecture for commercial photo shoots and product testing, both on location, in our on-site rental photo studio. We also design and fabricate permanent retail displays and buildouts, retail activations and custom event installations. We operate a large fabrication shop and commercial photo studio, located in Vallejo, CA. Self-transport is required as employees sometimes are assigned to begin work at offsite locations around the Bay Area. Early mornings, possible travel, evenings, weekends, and overtime are all parts of the role. We are hiring for builders for immediate full-time employment (40 hours per week plus overtime as needed).
