Role Title: Principal / Senior / Legal Advisors (UK-based candidates only) Role Nature: Volunteer Location: New York, NY, United States (Home-based) The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteer-led NGO supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change. We are looking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic Legal Advisor VOLUNTEERS to join our Director-General’s Office (Legal Advisory Section). The ideal candidate is driven and experienced, and looking to make a difference in international climate change governance. The successful candidate will provide expert and strategic legal advice to the Director-General, Chief of Staff, Company Secretary, and all BCI divisions, concerning the legal obligations and operations of BCI and assist in the minimization of any legal risk exposure, including employment law, contract law, privacy law, and competition law, etc. Responsibilities: Managing the Legal Advisory Section and supervising legal advisors; Providing advice on legal matters; Evaluating and weighing multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action; Supporting the formulation or review of internal governance policies and managing the impact of external factors; Drafting legal opinions, memoranda, and briefing documents; Formulating formalities regarding settlements of disputes; Monitoring the implementation of the legal clauses; Advise members on legal issues and risks, including corporate and charity governance, fundraising, marketing, competition, data protection, trademarks, copyright, defamation, and litigation matters, etc. Core competencies Strong analytical and research skills including critical thinking, organizational and problem-solving skills; Effective interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work well within a team and individually; Seeking a complementary range of specialisms (charity, commercial, corporate, contract, employment, litigation, and others). Selection Process As a voluntary organization, we are pleased to open the door for candidates who may not have the prior experience they need to start, progress, or switch their careers. To recruit the most suitable, talented, or potential new members out of the volume of applications received, it is the BCI’s policy to also consider inexperienced candidates to fill our voluntary unpaid roles as long as they can demonstrate the skills required in the written assessment. In the selection process, most candidates will be invited to complete the following assessment. Position Title: Direct Care Counselor FLSA Status: Non-exempt Department: Ke Kama Pono Supervisor: Program Director Primary Purpose: Provide direct care and supervision to youth according to the foundation’s policies and procedures, licensing and accreditation requirements. Essential Duties: • Supervise activities for residents that will increase their cultural awareness and enhance their self-esteem; • Work with the Lead Direct Care Counselor to oversee residents in their day to day routines in the house; • Assist in the delivery of services, and activities for the residents in the program; • Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; • Prepare documents and reports as necessary. Other Duties: Other duties as assigned by Program Director or direct supervisor. Work Hours: • Sunday through Saturday, work hours vary depending on program needs or otherwise determined by the supervisor; • Position requires regular and predictable attendance; • Some events on evenings or weekends at various times. Working Conditions: • Office setting; • Travel in program and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites. Minimum Qualification Requirements: • High school diploma, or equivalent, and experience working with youth required; • AA or BA degree in social work or related field preferred; • Must have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record; • Must participate in Child Abuse and Neglect, State criminal and FBI criminal clearances, and subsequently meet DHS standards regarding these clearances; • Must have current CPR/First Aid certification that will be updated annually; • Must have current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification that will be updated annually; • Must have current TB test completed that will be updated annually; • Must pass a physical examination requirement.

Role Title: Economists / Econometricians / Research Officers Role Nature: Voluntary Location: Home-based The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteers-led think tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change. We are looking for passionate volunteers Economists / Econometricians / Research Officers with a desire to contribute their skills towards tackling environmental and climate change issues. We seek applications from candidates who take a methodological approach to their work, have experience conducting independent research and analysis, and enjoy engaging with stakeholders and developing strategic partnerships. The role will involve driving research projects end-to-end, conducting independent economic research and analysis, providing research support to members of working groups, producing written reports and briefing materials for speeches and presentations, and turning actions into impacts to shape climate policy on a global platform. Volunteers with more experience may be appointed as Principal or Senior Research Officer. Candidates with experience in the insurance sector are preferred. Responsibilities: Providing economic/econometric analyses to support research projects across a range of sectors, including renewable energy, carbon trading, natural resource management, and biodiversity and conservation, particularly for developing-country governments; Conducting research and analysis of both primary and secondary data using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods; Presenting findings as high-quality research outputs including written reports, breifing documents, concept notes and presentations; Generating opportunities for strategic partnerships and engaging with key stakeholders; and Attending meetings, conferences and events to promote the BCI. Requirements Education & Training An undergraduate degree in (Environmental) Economics, Econometrics or a closely related subject, or equivalent professional experience (essential); and A postgraduate degree or equivalent research experience (desirable). Relevant Experience Proven ability to undertake economic and/or econometric analysis in feasibility studies; Experience of working in a target-driven role; Experience in building constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues, especially in the insurance sector; Experience of working independently and within teams to drive forward projects using own initiative; and Experience in designing, planning and facilitating independent/academic research and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
