SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented senior engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. Candidates will develop, implement, and run engineering processes in support of a large Agile software development program. Candidates will provide engineering leadership to development teams including subcontractors and will be responsible for ensuring team work products meet program requirements. SciTec seeks a candidate who will thrive in a collaborative environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems in support of critical national security objectives. Responsibilities Developing and implementing systems engineering processes. Providing engineering leadership and defining the engineering baseline for development teams. Ensuring development team work products are aligned with the engineering baseline. Coordinating between customer representatives, program managers, engineering leadership, software developers, and other members of the systems engineering team. Effective verbal and written communication skills are key for this role. Mentoring other SciTec staff in systems engineering processes and methodologies. Managing systems engineering staff and contractors in coordination with the SciTec program management team. Other duties as assigned Requirements A bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science. Eight (8) years of professional experience in engineering or computer science. Five (5) years of experience specifically in software and IT systems engineering. Two (2) years of experience with engineering team management. Detail oriented. Ability to work well with a collaborative team focused on delivering customer value. Good verbal and written communication skills. Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred Domain experience with remote sensor systems or ground architectures, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing. Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields. Additional professional experience in systems engineering beyond eight years. Familiarity with the Cameo/MagicDraw family of tools and MBSE. Experience with Agile software development methods. Familiarity with the Earned Value Management System. Graduate degrees or coursework in Systems Engineering or related fields.
