We are seeking a reliable and experienced truck driver to join our team. As a driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of building materials throughout Oregon. You will play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining our commitment to customer satisfaction. We have been in business for over 60 years and built strong relationships with our customers and are looking for a reliable driver to continue to build those relationships. Responsibilities: • Operate tractor-trailers in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. • Transport goods and materials to specified destinations, following assigned routes and schedules. • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in safe operating condition. • Secure cargo to prevent damage during transit. • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information, in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. • Communicate effectively with dispatchers to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues or delays. • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and vehicle maintenance guidelines. • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service. • Plan routes efficiently, considering traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules. • Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure, and report any mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. Qualifications: • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A • 2 years of experience as a Truck Driver preferred. • Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures. • Ability to operate and maintain commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to read maps, use GPS devices, and plan routes effectively. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Preferred Skills/Experience: • Experience with flatbed trailers. • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
