The Assistant Project Manager leads work alongside our Project Operations and Field Management to foster great client relationships, develop our employees, and oversee the safe construction of high quality, profitable, and on schedule projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead by example in adherence to Quality and Safety Programs Communicate productively with clients’ regarding overall project status updates as needed with assistance from PM Comfortable leading Internal, Client and Subcontractor meetings, providing meeting minutes and follow ups as needed Familiarize themselves with all requirements and exhibits of the EPC contracts Maintain internal trackers for quantity and production tracking Assist PM with all necessary finance functions such as: client billings, project forecasting, risk analysis, vendor/subcontractor payments, change management, and self perform analysis. Participate in CPM schedule reviews and maintain schedules to ensure timely completion of all milestones. Collaborate with project controls to identify critical paths, flag delays, and adjust resources. Assist PM in procurement process, scoping, and contracting of subcontractors and vendors. Responsible for management of subcontractors and vendors, including but not limited to; contract management, change management, notifications regarding Quality or EHS deficiencies and weekly subcontractor meetings. Employee actively promotes and encourages company culture onsite Assist PM in pre-EPC bid estimates Assist with initiatives such as mentoring, training, onboarding and conducting interviews Responsible to train field engineers and less experienced employees Conduct interviews when requested Financial responsibility for assigned vendors, subcontractors, or self-perform activities Fosters positive and productive meetings between internal teams This position is field based at our project construction sites Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Renewable Engineering, Engineering or a related field 1-3+ years of relevant construction industry experience, with progressively greater responsibility Successfully led and managed complex project or portfolios valued at $5+ million Experience leading, motivating and managing various project team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team members accountable Experience with successfully leading projects to on-schedule and within budget completion Experience with project start-up meetings, project drawings, project execution plans, and subcontractor and vendor buyouts Ability to read, understand and interpret contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders Success in managing subcontractors and developing and executing project changes Familiar with developing accurate cost to complete estimates, costing and pricing Change Orders, and maximizing profits Strong proficiency in Word and Excel and a working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Bluebeam (or similar) Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills are essential Solid time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast environment Must have a valid driver’s license Ability to travel and/or temporarily relocate to project construction sites every 3-12 months throughout your region of the United States * All applicants who receive a conditional offer of employment must take a pre-employment drug test and receive a negative result as a condition of hire. * An offer of employment is conditional upon complying with CS Energy's requirements including, but not limited to signing a separate disclosure and consent form prior to any background check. * Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis *The State of New York requires CS Energy, LLC to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Be the point person from the preconstruction phase to the project closeout phase. Early identification of long lead items; ensure all project procurement is properly tracked and released conducive to schedule milestones. Setup project budget with assistance from Estimating to work towards buyouts and early recognition of actual realized costs in labor, material, subcontractor, equipment, and overhead cost. Understand the difference between lump sum contracts and unit price contracts. Verify budget after upload confirming contract, budget, and billing are accurate in Spectrum. Determine project labor tracking strategy and setup labor codes congruent with required labor tracking. Gather hours from Superintendent and Foreman and verify with project team. Monitor and own the overall procurement and construction schedule and escalate any possible impacts by coordinating with the customer, giving notice as required and maintain documentation for such impacts. Collect feedback from field team to present accurate information for CTCs. Create projection for CTCs and provide to Project Executive for review. Prepare accurate cost projections for each project monthly. Stay actively engaged with labor tracking and weekly look ahead schedules to mitigate any potential impacts to the project schedule or financial status. Oversee timely project requirements and documentation including but not limited to submittals, RFI’s, delay notices, potential claims, and extended overheads. Maximize cash flow by balancing project cost with timing of project income, facilitating buy outs according to the schedule and project plan with estimating and project teams, understanding labor and material trends, creating balanced and accurate budget and Schedule of Values, submitting billings, and negotiating change orders. Environmental Factors and Working Conditions The work environment for this position is a typical office environment with occasional construction site visits. When in the office, the physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement, such as accessing centrally located office equipment, lifting of 35 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing, may be necessary to perform the requirements of this position. Site visits may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn as required on project sites and in the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have previous experience and strong skills in developing and overseeing work plans. The project manager will also prepare and present updates regularly to relevant management channels, ensuring that our goal of innovation is being achieved. The MSPs Technical Project Manager is responsible for ensuring all the information needed to deliver a project On-Time and On-Budget is available and gathered. We should be clear that this is NOT a hands-on IT Engineering role. This is a challenging role that requires support from stakeholders at many levels across the business. You will need to demonstrate leadership and team building skills and be able to balance these with the structure and discipline needed to manage and control project risks. Some really exciting initiatives are in place and that will allow you to make your mark in this organization and stand-out from the typical project manager. These include but are not limited to the following: Billable Hours Focus: Engage team members and Engineers on processes for properly documenting and increasing billable hours through automation PluralSight Implementation: Encourage professional development among Engineers to leverage recent PluralSight implementation company wide Microsoft Copilot: Encourage and mentor the use of Microsoft Copilot and other tooling among Engineers to improve efficiency REWST Low Code Implementation: Encourage and collaborate with Engineers on potential automation projects for routine and manual tasks Documentation/Process Improvement: Establish clear documentation standards for teams to follow and seek opportunities to implement process improvements to reduce inefficiencies. Automation Incentive Program: Assist with implementing a program where a 50/50 billable split happens between the Engineer developing the automation and the Engineer who executes the automation DevOps Implementation: Encourage and facilitate conversations with the team to adopt Agile and DevOps methodologies and practices as it relates to IT projects/infrastructure. Objectives of this role Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks Structure and manage integrated, multitrack performance databases for digital, print, social, broadcast, and experiential projects Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan Requirements Prior experience in a Managed Services environment 5 or more years of project management experience Industry Project Management certification (i.e. - PMP, Project+, etc) Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
