Assembly Operator HIROTEC Manufacturing America, located in Fayetteville, Tennessee, is part of the HIROTEC Group, headquartered in Hiroshima, Japan. With a US headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI, HIROTEC Group operates 32 facilities in eight countries. Currently, we are seeking an Assembly Operator to become a part of the HIROTEC team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, while following all safety procedures, production processes, and company policies. Assembly of components and sub-components, which includes manual or automated operation of machinery or tools. Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections. Complete required production documentation, manually or by data entry, accurately and timely. Visually inspect and test finished parts to ensure they have been correctly assembled according to quality specifications. Meet productivity requirements/quotas and produce quality parts ensuring products meet customer and internal standards and specifications. Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing. Work under the guidance of supervisor and assembly lead to perform and complete the assigned duties in a timely manner. Perform changeovers and general set ups (torch adjustments, mandrel balls, wiper dies, changeover fixtures, etc.). Monitor equipment for proper functionality/verify poke yokes are working correctly. Report poke yokes not working correctly/bypass and unsafe/defected operations to Supervisor immediately. Provide assistance and training to other operators in their assigned responsibilities. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area. Other duties and projects may be assigned based on the operational objectives of the company. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and one year of experience and/or training in automotive/manufacturing environment is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Ability to communicate effectively. Position Responsibilities • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions or issues promptly and efficiently. • Production Efficiency: Optimize equipment by adjusting settings, monitoring production rates, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Minimize downtime by anticipating maintenance needs and coordinating with maintenance staff as required. • Training Expertise: Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training for Production Operator 1 and 2 team members, and as well as other positions as needed. • Leadership: Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate production operators to achieve high performance. • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment performance, and any incidents or deviations. Complete production reports, logs, and other required documentation as per standard operating procedures. • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication. Share knowledge, insights, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives. • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that materials and equipment are properly stored, and waste is disposed appropriately. Ensure the team is working in a clean and neat manner as well. • Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies. Safely transport materials to designated area using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. Organize and store materials in designated locations for easy retrieval and inventory control. • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, with appropriate certifications if required. • Perform other duties as assigned and work in other areas as see needed. Position Requirements • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to operate and troubleshoot various types of equipment. • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to equipment operation and maintenance. • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately. • Good problem-solving to detail and the ability to make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information clearly. • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in a physically demanding environment. • Compliance with health and hygiene standards, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required. Summary: Assist plant superintendent by assuring that the assigned production department is operated in the most profitable and efficient way through proper utilization of assigned manpower, materials, equipment and space. The position is responsible for organizing all assigned resources to produce products according to the current schedule, and according to the approved quality standard. Just In Time (JIT) plant. Candidate does not need JIT experience but must have 2-3 years experience in Automotive Manufacturing. Required: 2-3 yrs Automotive manufacturing experience in a supervisory position managing a large team. Instills good housekeeping of their immediate work area in all employees so that visitors may be received in the plant at any time. Evaluate team members based on attendance, performance, attitude, potential, etc. Responsible for maintaining manpower within the assigned department at authorized levels.
