Western Specialty Contractors is expanding our Roofing team in Austin, TX. Pay range is $20-$35 per hour, depending on experience. We are currently looking for candidates with at least two years of commercial roofing experience. As a commercial roofer, you will: Report to jobsite on time and ready to work Perform daily work tasks in a safe and conscientious manner Utilize hand and power tools as needed to perform tasks Working on a crew to install commercial flat single ply roofing materials in the Central Texas area Other tasks as required Requirements At least two years of experience in commercial roofing Follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy; repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; evaluate information using measurable standards. Identify existing and predictable hazards to work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees. Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction The ability to read drawings is necessary Communicate effectively in order to supervise employees and maintain customer relations. Physically, workers must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see (naturally or with correction). Abilities to work at heights, at extreme temperatures, and to wear company's safety equipment are essential. Responsibilities Set up and operate sound equipment for live events, including microphones, PA systems Collaborate with the Technical Director and event organizers to understand sound requirements and objectives Monitors audio levels throughout event to ensure optimal sound quality Perform sound checks and calibrate audio equipment prior to events Troubleshoot and resolve any audio issues that arise during events Tie-in event FOH or DJ to our audio console and monitor levels throughout the events. Tweak mic EQs, build monitor mixes, and ring out speakers to optimize audio quality and prevent feedback.
