Responsible for matching and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touch ups, and coordinating large painting projects by using painting equipment and painting practices currently in use in the profession. Position Type: Part-Time Hours: 20 Hours Per Week Salary: $18.00 to $23.00 Per Hour Top Responsibilities: Meet with clients to discuss color and finish options. Perform routine inspections of properties for general upkeep. Maintain and update painting logs. Accurately estimate time and material costs. Select and purchase paint and supplies from vendors. Prep painting project sites by moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project. Prep the surface by scraping, sanding, priming and sealing surfaces prior to painting. Protect all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, and lighting fixtures. Apply paint to various surfaces using either brushes, rollers, or airless paint sprayer. Clean and maintain all painting tools and equipment. General Responsibilities The Painter/Maintenance is responsible for preserving and maintaining campus equipment and buildings, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager for Facilities. As an "essential" employee, you must remain or report for work during site closures due to emergencies or inclement weather. The Painter/Maintenance is authorized to prioritize tasks to uphold departmental standards, assignments, policies, and objectives. While much of the position’s work is self-driven and process-focused, additional work projects may be assigned to meet the departmental needs.  Additional duties as assigned by management.  Must abide by all University policies and procedures.  Requirements Minimum five (5) years of hands-on industrial/maintenance experience.
