Shape Cutting Assistant - Day Shift Specialty Metals Corporation has a career opportunity for an individual that is self-motivated, has a strong work ethic, and is a team player. We are hiring for a Shape Cutting Assistant on our day shift. The ideal applicant will assist Machine Operators with day-to-day production. The hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm. This is an entry level position with the potential for advancement. Why should you apply? • Great pay • Great work-life balance & family culture • Company paid employee medical/dental/vision benefits • 401(k) with company match • Vacation - 1 week after 6 months, 1 week at a year, 2 weeks after 2 and 3 years, 3 weeks for years 4-9 and 4 weeks for 10+ years • Sick leave - 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked • 7 paid holidays Primary Job Duties: * Assist machine operators with day-to-day production * Perform other operations that can be learned on the job * Operating a forklift and overhead crane to move material in the work area * This position requires frequent moving, frequent exertion of moderate to heavy physical effort or frequent standing and lifting up to 70 pounds Qualifications: * One (1) year experience in the metals or fabrication industry preferred * Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane * Experience handling a variety of materials and metals * Experience with an array of pneumatic, electric and general hand tools * Computer skills and blueprint reading is beneficial * Ability to follow demonstrated directions Our Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity Company.
