Haig Precision Mfg. Corp. LOOKING FOR QC. INSPECTOR (Part-time, potential full-time opportunity) Inspects company & products and materials for conformance to customer specifications; detects and prevents nonconforming products from being released to the customer. Obtains and records data from incoming materials, in-process inspections, and finished products, compiling inspection reports and interacting with customer representatives.  Uses various measurement instruments and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins, comparator, height gages, indicators, thread gauges, CMM and other measuring equipment.  Responsible to only use calibrated devices to verify dimensions for product acceptance. To maintain product quality the inspector must be able to read blueprints and other written specifications, use standard measuring devices, follow production procedures and instructions, and record information as required. Inspectors mark, tag, or note problems on products per company procedures. Inspectors document all nonconforming products. If the product is acceptable, the inspector certifies it.  Materials inspectors check products by sight, sound, or feel to locate imperfections such as cuts, scratches, and missing pieces. Maintain traceability requirements in inspection documentation to monitoring and measuring devices. Maintain documented information per control of documented information procedures. May conduct first article inspection (FAI) process or use appropriate sampling techniques, in-process, receiving, or final inspections per company procedure.  Requirements Education and/or Experience       High School or GED and 1-2 years of inspection experience (or equivalent)                                 Language Skills                                          Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills                                              Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and trigonometry.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability                                       Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Input and maintain documentation 2. Input and maintain documentation of calibration 3. Create and update nonconformance NCRs 4. Microsoft office products (excel, word, PowerPoint…) 5. Maintain production logs (Traveler, Planning etc.) 6. Understand Role and responsibilities in QMS 7. Use of calipers, micrometers, gage pins, comparators. height gages, indicators, thread gauges, CMMs etc. 8. Records inspection results for receiving, in-process, lot sampling and final inspections on forms and in data files as required.  9. Reads drawings and specifications with an understand the basic requirements of ASME Y14.5M including basic concepts of GD&T. 10. Safely start up and operate CMM. Archives CMM inspection reports to job folder on network. Verifies CMM inspection data is logged correctly into data file. 11. Explain and discuss inspection results with peer employees. Verifies that employees understand any changes needed to ensure product meets customer specification. 12. Identify and quarantine non-conforming material to MRB. 13. Understands surface inspection using magnifier, light and stereo microscope to visually inspect for surface flaws and profilometer to measure surface finish. 14. Adheres to suspect counterfeit material prevention and awareness process.
