Brass fitting needs to be cut with a band saw (Dracut)

Looking for someone ( perhaps a machinist) with a band saw who can cut off 1/8" from both sides of a threaded brass fitting. The fitting is 3.5" in length, but I need it to measure 3.25". Or should I just make the cut with a hacksaw?
