Equipment operator, pipe layer (Lawndale)

Helical Drilling, a New England based design build Geotechnical Engineering firm is looking to fill a Quality Control Technician’s role. This role would ensure that the project’s specifications are followed and that Helical Drilling’s work has been installed according to the design. They will work with the Helical Drilling (HDI) field supervisor, HDI office, the general contractor, and the project geotechnical engineer. The individual is responsible for recording accurate field and production information on a daily basis along with recognizing unknown anomalies that can affect the original design parameters. When changes or anomalies do occur, they also need to collaborate with the above mention entities on solutions and/or repairs. A successful QC Tech will ensure a project has been built correctly. Responsibilities and Duties: • Read, understand, and follow the design submittal and specifications as it relates to construction of the project. • Document and transfer to field layout plans as-builts, test pier locations, offsets, newly discovered utilities, etc. • Read and understand the boring logs. • Inform field supervisor of on-site change of conditions. • Review design submittal to verify information is accurate. • Complete accurate and timely Daily Field Reports (DFRs). • Prepare plans for field production and use. • Document and report all anomalies. • Participate in project kick off and closeout calls. • Communicate with the HDI office, GC, and/or Geotechnical engineers as directed by field supervisor. • Keep track of production and assist in sequencing of installing elements. • Introduce and be engaged with the on-site geotechnical consultants. • Calculate volume of materials needed (concrete, cement, grout, sand mix, infield mix, etc.) • Setup and preform load tests. Understand the required criteria for execution and completion of a successful test. • Record and complete all logs (drilling, driving, sheeting, grouting, test piers, installation, etc.) • Review the Quality Control Summary sheet and As- Built information at the end of a project for accuracy before submitting to the office. • Enter and record accurate information into the logs. Does not need to be licensed. • Tools: Own typical tools • Transportation: Reliable truck, van, or SUV with valid auto insurance. • License: Valid driver’s license. • Handyman Skills: Preferred experience in general maintenance. • Language: English (Fluent) • Location: 30-mile radius of Los Angeles. Helical Drilling, is looking for an experienced Foreman. Helical is a geotechnical design build contractor that does work all over New England. The foreman is responsible for their assigned project and crew. Their primary responsibilities are to oversee and maintain a safe work environment. They will guide and direct the crew along with managing the daily activities of the project. They will ensure that the project is built according to the design submittal. They will keep General Superintendent (GS) & Construction Project Manager (CPM) informed on the status of the project daily or as needed and will also coordinate site activities with the General Contractor and with the GS & CPM when required.
