We are a small firm specializing in the fabrication, restoration & installation of historic & traditional architectural woodwork. We are looking for experienced help. Our shop is in Sunnyside, Queens. Our site work tends to be mainly in the 5 boroughs, but we do a significant amount of work out of the city as well. We work on wood windows & doors, cornices, staircases, and other architectural woodwork. We work at public & private buildings. Our projects range from staircase and handrail installation to the installation & servicing of traditional wood windows. Being focused on restoration, our work tends to be eclectic and requires flexibility. Each staff member is engaged in a variety of tasks both on-site & in the shop. We occasionally work on brownstone scaffolds so a comfort with heights is helpful. We often work in sensitive environments such as museums, public spaces & religious buildings. Thoughtful behavior and proper inter-personal skills are essential. We maintain a family friendly, cooperative atmosphere. Our goal is to provide a healthy, safe and enjoyable work experience. Benefits after vesting include paid time off, 401k & health insurance (50%-50%). You must have your own tools and a driving license. A vehicle is a plus. An OSHA 30 + 10 Card and 4 hr supported scaffold card are required as well. These can be obtained prior to starting employment if not currently held. Email resume & references.
