ABOUT US Studio Practice (SP) is a high-end architectural millwork and fabrication company based in Ozone Park, Queens. We specialize in luxury residential and select retail projects, delivering cabinetry, wall paneling, and custom furniture with uncompromising quality. Our projects range from New York penthouses to flagship retail builds for top brands. We are seeking a Shop Foreman with 10+ years of experience in architectural millwork or high-end fabrication to oversee daily production on our shop floor. This role is pivotal in connecting our design/engineering team with our skilled makers, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -Lead and manage shop staff, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring progress. -Oversee production schedules, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget requirements. -Maintain strict quality control standards on all fabricated components before delivery/installation. -Troubleshoot technical and workflow issues, collaborating with engineering and PM teams. -Ensure best fabricating practices, machine maintenance, and set safety guidelines. -Coordinate with operating manager, project managers, drafters, and CNC operators to align shop output with design intent. -Train, mentor, and evaluate junior staff to strengthen the team’s skills and efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS -10+ years of experience in architectural millwork, custom fabrication, or related field. -Proven leadership experience in a shop foreman, lead fabricator, or production manager role. -Deep knowledge of woodworking machinery, CNC equipment, and modern shop workflows. -Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings and architectural plans (Rhino/AutoCAD familiarity a plus). -Exceptional attention to detail, craftsmanship, and finish quality. -Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. -Knowledge or attitude for Project Management Software, specifically INNERGY.
