Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU) is seeking a motivated Water Resources Engineering Intern to join our Omaha, NE or Lincoln, NE office. This position offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in a variety of water resources projects, from supporting hydrology and hydraulics for transportation projects to contributing to stream restoration, floodplain analysis, and stormwater systems. What You’ll Do As an intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers to: Assist with analysis and design for drainage projects, including hydrology, hydraulics, and floodplain modeling. Support stormwater quality projects through the design of green infrastructure, erosion and sediment control measures, and compliance documentation. Participate in data collection, technical analyses, and report preparation. Use engineering design software to help prepare plans, details, and cost estimates under supervision. Contribute to client presentations and meetings in a supporting role. Requirements Current student working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in water resources preferred). Prior coursework or internship experience in water resources is a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, or GIS is helpful. Exposure to hydrologic, hydraulic, or water quality modeling software is desirable. Strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn in a collaborative team environment. Additional Information Internship candidates should be working toward eligibility for an Engineering Intern (EI) Certificate.
