Unique Teaching Opportunity in La Pine (La Pine)

Location: La Pine, Oregon 97739 Pay: $100.00 per hour Job description: Seeking a licensed, passionate, and kind teacher to teach in-person to 2 children ages 12 and 8. The ideal teacher takes pride in inspiring their students by nurturing the individual’s voice, intellect, and character, providing rich learning content, with an emphasis on inquiry-based and student-driven projects, where the student is empowered and encouraged to be an active and engaged learner. Teaching will take place from 9:00 am-12:30 pm, Monday - Friday (availability during these times is a must!). Lessons will be in the student's home near La Pine (lessons will be moved to a remote platform when the family occasionally travels or due to inclement weather). Responsibilities: - Prepare materials for class activities - Support student in their educational and social development - Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to student - Help assess student progress and provide feedback to family -Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines - Write semi-regular reports on students’ progress Experience: - Teaching Degree (required) - Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting - Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices - Ability to educate, tutor, and mentor students effectively - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to pass a background check If you are passionate about working with children and have a desire to make a positive impact on their lives, we encourage you to apply for this student teacher position.
