After School Teacher (Support/Part Time)

Position Description The After School Teacher plays an important role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students in grades K–8 during after-school hours. This position requires a positive and energetic individual who enjoys working with children, is proactive in ensuring safety, and is committed to fostering fun and meaningful experiences. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, adaptable and enjoys working with children aged 5-10 years old. The after school instructor will begin with training and assisting the team to eventually take over the lead teacher's position while out on maternity leave. This position can be filled for the rest of the school year with opportunities to continue the following school year. Flexible assistance is sought within the days/hours of Monday-Friday, 1:00-6:00pm. Job Responsibilities include: Welcoming K-8 students after school Supervising the safety of indoor and outdoor environments and enjoys being outdoors Using a walkie talkie to communicate pick-up information Leading and creating structured games and activities indoors and outdoors Communicating effectively with Director of After School Programs and colleagues to maintain a positive working environment To Apply Interested candidates may apply by sending a cover letter, resumé, and references to burkes.workable.com. Requirements Position Qualifications Experience working with children (at least 1-2 years) High School Graduate and pursuing higher education Enthusiasm, maturity, good work ethic and enjoys working with children CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to become CPR certified) Benefits Compensation The school offers competitive compensation ($27.50-28.50/hour) based on prior experience and position requirements.
