Key Responsibilities: Adhere to all Baystate Interpreters, Inc. policies related to information security and confidentiality including but not limited to HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.  Provide accurate on-site interpretation between English and designated target languages. Follow interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Baystate Interpreters, Inc. and respective clients. Follow all interpreter ethics standards, including those set by the IMIA (International Medical Interpreters Association), the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC), the American Translators Association (ATA), the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Uphold principles of confidentiality, accuracy, impartiality, professionalism, and cultural competence in every assignment. Establish and maintain positive, professional interactions with patients, customers, healthcare providers, and clinical staff.  Continuously improve specialized vocabulary and subject matter knowledge (e.g., medical, legal, social services) to meet client needs.  Demonstrate professionalism, neutrality, and confidentiality throughout the interpretation process. Provide high-quality interpretation, ensuring no omissions or additions, while adhering to established industry standards.  Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and customer service while assisting clients during sensitive interactions. Effectively manage assignments, demonstrating punctuality, preparedness, and adaptability to meet various client needs and settings. Requirements Qualifications: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Proficiency in English and at least one additional language. Strong communication skills and a composed demeanor in challenging situations. Flexibility and reliability to meet the demands of per diem assignments. Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills for accurate interpretation. Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations. Required: Completion of a Legal Interpreter Training Course from a well-regarded institution.
