Senior Firmware Engineer

We are now looking for a Senior Firmware Developer to join our team in San Diego. What You’ll Do In this role you will be developing new features and enhancing the existing features of our current product offering and factory firmware. You will also participate in maintenance activities including bug fixing, automated functional and unit test improvements. You will work alongside other domain experts learning from them, and providing your own expertise to deliver world-class solutions and embedded systems. The job involves proficiency in low level C/C++ programming, and excellent debugging skills. You have an understanding of embedded programming, sensors and wireless communications.   You will be collaborating across teams including science, hardware, test, mobile application development teams, contributing to in-house tools, while enjoying a culture of cooperation, trust, equality, and flexibility.  This position is based in San Diego and follows a hybrid work model. We value collaboration and innovation that comes from face-to-face interactions as much as we respect the flexibility and focus that remote work offers. As such, you will be expected to be in the office approximately 3 days a week. This balance is designed to support a cohesive team environment while accommodating personal work styles and commitments. Requirements We would love to have you on our team if you have:  5+ years of relevant experience Strong skills in C/C++ programming Expertise in MCU programming on real-time platforms Experience with embedded RTOS such as Zephyr a plus Experience with automated functional and unit testing Familiarity with CI tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions Solid troubleshooting and debugging skills Python or other scripting knowledge Understanding of measurement techniques and Bluetooth Low Energy communications Good communication skills Bonus Points: Interest or experience in sensor data processing Experience in using oscilloscopes and other measurement equipment Experience in system-level debugging and analysis Benefits At Oura, we care about you and your well-being. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
