Western Engineering Co Inc is looking for a qualified Class A CDL Lowboy Driver to join our dedicated team. In this critical position, you will be responsible for the transportation of asphalt paving equipment and machinery using a lowboy trailer to various job sites. Safety and precision are paramount, as you will be maneuvering significant loads while adhering to all federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safe driving practices, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of operating heavy equipment moving vehicles. (This is a seasonal position) Responsibilities Transport heavy equipment and machinery using a lowboy trailer to and from job sites in a safe and efficient manner Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, ensuring compliance with safety standards Secure loads appropriately to prevent damage during transport Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption Communicate effectively with project managers and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and requirements Adhere to all transportation laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with company policies Load and unload equipment as necessary Report any maintenance or repair needs for the vehicle in a timely manner. Requirements Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record Proven experience as a lowboy driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of heavy equipment transportation Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while on the road Physical ability to handle equipment loading/unloading and secure heavy loads High school diploma or equivalent preferred Pass pre-employment drug screening.
