Applied AI Engineer Location: NYC Employment Type: Full-time On-site: 5 days/week in-office About the Role Our client, an AI-first company backed by top-tier investors, is looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join their team. They are building a platform that applies AI to every step of bringing new therapies to market, ensuring patients get life-changing treatments as quickly and affordably as possible. This role is a high-impact opportunity to work on real-world production use cases of LLMs and other ML techniques to solve complex business problems. This is a demanding role with a high level of autonomy. The client is looking for someone who can "act like an owner" and take end-to-end responsibility for projects, from initial definition and design through to launch and success. What You'll Do Spearhead AI projects across the product, including classifications, data extraction, content generation, and building AI-powered bots. Drive zero-to-one product development, from concept to production, in collaboration with go-to-market and operations teams. Stay on top of emerging AI methods and make decisions about which models and techniques to use. Establish research strategies and evaluation protocols for various AI methods. Prototype and productionize AI functionality and agents, refining them with real-world feedback. Participate in client engagements, working directly with customers to understand their needs and deliver innovative solutions. Develop engineering processes and tools to support faster AI product development and scaling. Work closely with the CEO and team to make business decisions that balance growth and long-term profitability.
