The Electrical Safety Manager reports directly to the Safety Director and plays a critical role in assisting the project teams with executing the company’s safety program on individual projects with a focus on managing electrical safety risks. The Electrical Safety Manager ensures strict adherence to electrical safety standards, TEiC policies, mitigates risks associated with electrical work, and fosters a culture of proactive safety management. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Conduct daily site inspections with a focus on electrical activities, verifying compliance with company, customer, and regulatory safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910/1926). Proactively identify electrical hazards such as improper grounding, exposed energized parts, and improper lockout/tagout practices. Perform and document atmospheric testing where required and verify safe working conditions near energized components. Oversee the use, testing, and maintenance of electrical personal protective equipment (PPE) such as arc flash suits, voltage detectors, and insulated tools. Ensure that Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are properly implemented and audited. Assist Project Teams by leading investigations involving electrical incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Provide immediate corrective feedback to site personnel when unsafe electrical conditions or practices are observed. Manage permits related to energized work, confined space with electrical exposure, and ensure documentation is thorough and audit ready. Maintain safety documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor and help enforce environmental compliance on projects involving electrical components. Ensure that client-specific electrical safety requirements are fully understood and integrated into project safety protocols. Maintain open, professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and workers regarding electrical safety concerns. Lead toolbox talks and training sessions specifically focused on electrical safety topics. Analyze trends in electrical incidents or near misses to drive continuous safety improvements. Assist in executing the safety plan on multiple projects by ensuring all safety protocols are implemented. Coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth and consistent adherence to safety practices throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in planning and executing the project’s safety plan with an emphasis on mitigating electrical hazards during all project phases. Support pre-task planning (PTP) activities, ensuring electrical risks are properly assessed and addressed before work begins. Work closely with the Project Site Safety Manager, Construction Managers, and Electrical Superintendents to coordinate safe operations involving electrical systems. Encourage teamwork and active participation from site personnel in maintaining a strong electrical safety culture. Take initiative to address unsafe electrical behaviors and conditions immediately, promoting a proactive approach to electrical safety Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred). Minimum of 5 years of safety experience on industrial or construction sites, with 2 of those years focused on electrical safety. OSHA 510 Certification (required). First Aid/CPR Certification (required). NFPA 70E Training (required or must obtain within 90 days of hire). Lockout/Tagout Training Certification (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills  Preferred Skills: Experience implementing and managing electrical safety programs on construction or industrial projects. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and other electrical safety regulations and standards. CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional). Position Summary The Safety Director plans and coordinates health and safety program in area of responsibility by analyzing, updating and controlling work processes and supporting leadership with safety awareness and tools to reduce occupational hazards and diseases by performing the following duties. Position Duties Develop and implements program and policies for under-performing locations to improve all safety metrics. Support division, region, and branch managements to ensure consistent development, implementation and execution of safety strategies at field locations. Perform corporate safety audits at each location, including field safety reviews. Develop strategies for reducing collisions and injuries. Develop accountability mechanisms for branches and regions to ensure safety accountability at all levels in area of responsibility. Analyze safety metrics and trends to develop recommendations for solutions to improve results of key performance indicators. Provide guidance and technical support for management and safety teams to ensure compliance with any applicable regulations or laws. Serve as a secondary point of contact for field management for inquiries, questions or needs related to internal safety, security, and loss prevention. Review business operations and safety trends and make recommendations to reduce costs and manage risks. Provide leadership and direction to the operating managers regarding collision or workers' compensation investigations, reporting processes, regulatory compliance and follow-up corrective action and preventative measures. Conduct investigation of more serious work-related accidents or illnesses. Manage any external audit process by a regulatory agency governing matters of employee occupational health, safety and security. Coordinate communication with any outside regulatory agencies where needed. Identify, report and provide solutions to the division regarding employee safety programs, regulatory compliance, security breaches and employee health issues. Implement or recommend control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions. Assist with development of educational and training materials for associates including "red flag" training when there is an immediate need resulting from an occurrence. Direct workers engaged in field and laboratory verification of compliance with health regulations. Provide technical guidance to management, labor organizations, government agencies, and civic groups regarding health related problems and correct use of protective clothing or accessories. Monitor the company's health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Develop and implements a program and system to track and evaluate worker injuries for analyses. Maintain working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations. May facilitate training for workers or train-the-trainers on issues related to health and safety. Requirements Education:     Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Mathematical Skills:  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
