Since its last full redesign in 2010, the E-Class has improved in several graduated steps. This year's round of changes is the most dramatic yet, bringing in better fuel economy and better performance, more safety technology, and a cleaner look that drops some of the furrowed brows of the past three years. Most E-Class models have controlled and agile road manners, but they're not tuned as tautly as the sportier end of BMW's or Audi's ranges. That changes when you step up to the factory-tuned AMG car. There's more interior room in any E-Class than in models from just a few years ago. The latest editions ride on a wider and longer platform than before, with particularly roomy layouts to be found in the sedan and wagon.
