Trademark Paralegal

Seeking a full-time Trademark Paralegal. Responsibilities: Conduct clearance searches using online databases, and review and analyze cited references for potential conflicts. Prepare and file trademark applications, amendments, statements of use, assignments, renewal applications, and other trademark-related documents with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign trademark offices. Manage and update the trademark docket, including ensuring that all trademark-related deadlines are accurately recorded and monitored. Correspond with clients to report the status of active matters and to respond to client inquiries. Provide support in litigation and enforcement matters, including preparing exhibits and discovery materials, and conducting research as needed. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree required. Strong computer skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience required; database experience a plus. Experience in both domestic trademark prosecution and oppositions Experience managing similar foreign filings through foreign counsel. Must also have the ability to organize and coordinate mail, correspondence (internally and externally) and manage an active calendar.

Hiring a full-time IP Docketing Paralegal for a national law firm. Responsibilities: Handle the daily maintenance and overall operation of the Firm’s computerized docketing system including the docketing of all incoming mail from the USPTO, international trademark offices, clients and international associates; docketing prosecution, opposition, cancellation and other contentious matter due dates for all US trademark cases into the docketing system including USPTO and court filings dates; abandoning cases and entering data relating to cases transferred to and from the Firm Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all data entry including the data entry of new US and foreign, trademark, opposition, cancellation and litigation case data; Maintain a high level of quality by reviewing all data entry on a daily basis Clear due dates on the docketing system on a daily basis per instruction from Attorneys/Assistants. Duties and Responsibilities Reviews sales contract and creates title file in SoftPro software, requests a title exam. Reviews title insurance commitment and survey. Prepares the deed and seller’s affidavit. Prepares the Closing Disclosure/Settlement Statement using the sales contract and lender’s instructions; receipts funds for closing and prepares checks for issue. Receives the lender’s loan documents and prepares them for closing; checks documents for completeness and accuracy, meets with the buyer and seller and has loan documents, deed, and seller’s affidavit signed and notarized. Ships signed and notarized loan package to the lender. Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.   Requirements Minimum Education Experience High School graduate, college degree preferred, and 3-5 years of experience in the title insurance field. Must be a licensed notary in the State of Minnesota.  Skills and Abilities Strong customer service-oriented individual with good verbal and written communication skills for interaction with a variety of people inside and outside of the organization.  Ability to elicit, analyze and evaluate given information from buyers, sellers, and lenders.  The candidate should possess a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills as well as a detail-oriented aptitude.  General administrative abilities should include typing, filing and use of computer, calculator, copier, and facsimile machines.  Knowledge of SoftPro is a plus.
