Our bustling local construction company is looking for a Trucking Dispatcher to join our team. We need someone who can keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. About the Role As a Truck Dispatcher, you'll be the central hub of our street-sweeping operations. Your main responsibility will be to dispatch our fleet of trucks, ensuring they are where they need to be, when they need to be there. You'll work closely with our field teams and clients to coordinate routes, respond to service requests, and manage schedules. Key Responsibilities Dispatching: Effectively dispatch and route trucks to various job sites in a timely manner. Scheduling: Create and manage daily schedules, making adjustments as needed based on project demands and unforeseen circumstances. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for our drivers, providing clear instructions and support throughout the day. Record-keeping: Maintain accurate records of all dispatches, routes, and job details using Microsoft Excel and other computer systems. Problem-solving: Handle unexpected issues, such as equipment breakdowns or last-minute requests, with a calm and logical approach. What We're Looking For Experience: Proven experience in a dispatch role, preferably in a trucking or construction environment. Computer Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong ability to learn new software quickly. Employee Relations: A knack for building positive relationships with drivers and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment. Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without missing a beat. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
