Maintenance/Mechanic Employment Type: Full time position Description: San Diego Powder and Protective Coatings is a fast paced, family-owned business with 75+ employees for over 25 years, that’s serving a variety of products from civilian and military customers. - Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 600 am -230 pm, + Overtime, with occasional Saturdays (40-50+ hours a week) - Compensation depends on experience for around $21-25 an hour. Company benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401K, annual performance bonus, and across the street parking. Responsibilities and Duties: The Maintenance/Mechanic position has the responsibility assisting SDPPC in a variety of functions. Including but not limited to: • Having general knowledge covering a wide range of tasks. • Automotive maintenance and mechanic knowledge. • Electrical, single and three phase components. • Shop welding. • Familiarity of standard shop hand, power and pneumatic tools. • Forklift driving and maintenance experience. • Knowledge on small motors. • Ability to take apart and reassemble. • Basic Carpentry. • Basic HVAC. • Basic Plumbing. • Basic computer skills. • Cleaning and maintaining of spray equipment. • General Housekeeping as required • Overtime and Saturdays are expected as workload dictates. Skills and Qualifications: • Proven ability to understand instructions and properly build parts according to specifications. • Prove strong work ethic and consistent on time attendance. • Proven ability to recommend process improvements. • Demonstrate ability to maintain organization and safety. • Proven ability to consistently meet production schedules. • Sand blast knowledge and experience is a plus. Requirements: • Must be able to pass E-Verify. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Must be able to pass a drug test. • Must be able to perform basic math skills. • Must be able to read and write in English. • Must be able to understand quality standards and adhere to specific written and drawing instructions. • Must follow compliance and safety requirements and standards, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily. • Able to positively interact with customers and coworkers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs. • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. • Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, walk, talk, and hear. • Occasionally sit, climb or balance • Frequently lift/move 10-25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (hot, cold, wet and/or humid). Most job requirements take place in the warehouses, but some duties are outside the buildings. • Ability to obtain security clearance for military base access is a plus. • Certain positions will need to understand drawings, plans, and specifications. • Air Compressor familiarity is a plus.

Job Requirements and Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED. Certificates & Licenses: Valid California Class C Driver’s License with driving record acceptable to SCTCA’s insurance. Knowledge Requirements: Working knowledge of the local Indian communities served. Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply. Basic ability to speak and write in English. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Experience: One year of related experience delivering or working in a warehouse. Experience working with Native American populations and agencies preferred. Physical: Lift and move objects regularly weighing up to 60 pounds. Conditions of Employment: Candidates are required to successfully complete background check and drug screening.
