Our dental practice has been providing high quality dental care to residents in healthcare settings such as nursing home/rehab facilities for over 40 years. We are currently searching for talented Dental Hygienists (RDH) to join our practice! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering quality patient care to the elderly with their safety, comfort, and dignity always in mind. Opportunities are available throughout the NY area. Responsibilities include: (RDH) shall perform a full range of dental hygienist procedures, within the scope of the practice of hygiene as outline by State law; including surveillance and preventive services, document all procedures performed and care provided. Refer residents/patients to the dentist for consultative opinions and continuation of care. Shall perform other such related duties from time to time that the dentist may require.                      (RDH) Reports directly to the dentist who assists in the planning, coordinating, and delivering of dental hygiene services.                  Review and complete preliminary dental examinations for new residents/patients and recall periodontal residents/patients. Examine teeth and surrounding tissues for evidence of caries, periodontal disease and record findings.  Inspect head and neck; examine mouth, throat and pharynx for evidence of diseases such as oral cancer, and/or soft tissue pathosis.  Expose, develop and interpret radiographs to identify tooth structure, periodontal support and other abnormalities.  Refer suspected medical conditions, abnormalities, caries and traumatic or suspicious lesions to the dentist for evaluation.  Develop dental hygiene treatment plans for resident/patient.  Perform complete oral prophylaxis and non-surgical periodontal treatment on resident/patient using ultrasonic and hand instruments.  Perform sub gingival scaling, root planning and curettage under local anesthesia administered by a dentist and perform topical fluoride applications.  Polish teeth and apply disclosing solutions, fluorides, desensitizing agents and other topical medications to the teeth for the purpose of controlling carries and dental hypersensitivity.  Clean and polish and mark removable dental appliances worn by resident/patient. Participates and or performs in the In-Service Education Program. Cooperates with the other members of the multi-disciplinary health team. Establishes and maintains cooperative interpersonal relationships with all other members of the multi-\.
