Description

2006 Subaru Forester AWD 2.5L, base model ***Please include an offer price in your first email. I've received more emails than I can manage to respond to. I've done my best to include all known issues in the post. Thank you!*** Vehicle is in decent mechanical shape for its age and it runs fine, but does not have air conditioning and needs some regular maintenance. I’ve put over $10k of maintenance into it between 70k-158k miles, and with proper care I hope it will last a long time. **Known mechanical issues:** - Brake pads are at the end of their lifespan. Not sure if front or back, not grinding, and I don’t think it needs rotors but I cannot guarantee this -When the car starts, it sometimes squeaks but stops when you turn the wheel.  Likely the serpentine belt; could just be low on steering fluid but also may need to be tightened or replaced soon.  No other issues with the steering. - There is a slow/light transmission fluid leak coming from one of the hoses. - Needs updated inspection and may require more work than I’m aware of to pass. - Both key fobs are weird. The unlock button works *most* of the time, lock button never works, and unlocking with the key sets the car alarm off. (You can remove the car alarm fuse to disable this) — Exterior isn’t too bad; no major dents or accidents, clean title, looks as pictured. Interior: It’s seen better days. Has not been smoked in for ~5 years; has two small burn marks (driver seat & passenger floor) but no smell. No lid to the compartment on the top of the dashboard (it was brittle and snapped when I took it off to repair it) Air conditioning does not work (Condenser, I believe) Fan knob on the center console is gone. No idea where it went or how it came off. Cooking oil spill on the carpet in the back seat. Oxidized and absolutely menacing to remove, I’ve spent hours working on it but it will not come out. Driver side carpet floor is destroyed, shown in picture. Best put a mat over it. — Car is being sold in “as-is” condition. Please be mindful about purchasing.
