About this role Field Associates will support our research trials and projects for the upcoming Blueberry season. Additionally, monitors will be responsible for assisting with data uploading and project logistics. This position reports to the Operations Manager. This is a part-time seasonal position starting at the end of March/first week of April. The duration of this position is 6-8 weeks. Responsibilities Assist in executing our pollination services to growers Participate in ongoing research and development trials if needed Participate in data collection by accurately recording key points and daily upkeep of data sheets and field notes Work efficiently and in a timely manner to complete daily activities in multiple different fields With the aim of meeting target data collection quantity for the season Assist in crop tagging - tag branches in different crops in a systematic way Provide feedback at the end of projects to determine avenues for improvement Requirements BS in Entomology, Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Biology, Ecology, or equivalent preferred Field research experience Interest in pollination and/or agriculture A valid driver’s license and confidence in driving for long periods of time Ability to communicate clearly, consistently, and promptly. Familiarity with Google Suite Comfortable working independently in the field with support from remote manager Must be detailed oriented Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred Currently living in Bakersfield, CA area. Implement, monitor, benchmark and enforce standards of production for self-performed work to ensure field personal are operating efficiently & effectively f. Assist with modular deliveries and coordination along with the factory production teams g. Communicate to Factory Teams, Estimating Team, Project Managers, and others of opportunities or issues in regards to production, technology, budgets, etc. h. Uphold high customer service standards through personal leadership and managed employees i. High School Degree Preferred: Post Secondary Degree (Trade or Bachelor’s) b. Minimum of ten (10) years of valid construction experience and a preference will be placed on candidates with five (5) years of a leadership capacity role such as Superintendent, Foreman, or other comparable leadership in the construction industry c. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to figure normal calculations d. The ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, specifications, and contracts e. The ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and react to these appropriately f. Maintain valid CA driver’s License g. Proficient with Microsoft Office such as Project, Excel, Outlook, and Word h. The ability to multi-task effectively and manage stress load appropriately i. Maintain an organized works space, shop, and communication system with your field team and company personnel. j. Experience with complex and high-end residential projects Authority: a. Manage field operations in regards to directing Field Leaders, project safety, assign work and direct field crew staff for successful project progress through completion b.
