Structured cabling Tech level 3 (Austin)

Datacom Tech 3 – $26 to $32 • Ability to give direction to small numbers of crew members (i.e., the lead may task a T3 to run small crew on a particular floor of a building or a specific aspect of the project) • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders:  Communication with Telco Data PM on manpower and material needs  Communication with clients/customers • Proven industry knowledge through certifications including but not limited to:  SYSTIMAX I&M  Corning See the Light Trainings  BICSI Installer or BICSI Tech • Mid to high-level understanding of copper and fiber products and their installation methods  Installation of Category Cabling  Installation of Coaxial cabling  Installation of Fiber cabling • Ability to terminate most standard industry connectors including but not limited to:  SYSTIMAX  Panduit Mini-Com and Netkey  Leviton • Mid-to-high-level understanding of bonding and grounding systems, including but not limited to:  Ability to install all aspects of bonding and grounding for telecom systems.  Ability to locate incorrect installation techniques through visual inspection. • High level of understanding of firestopping principles as it pertains to telecom pathways. • OSHA 30 • Entry to mid-level understanding of fiber optic principles and termination techniques, including but not limited to:  Mechanical Splicing  Fusion Splicing  Connectors • Communicate Clearly with other trades the needs and challenges relating to our scope. • Understanding what is or is not in our scope of work on the assigned project. • Ability to identify risks and challenges ahead of time. • Knowing what material is needed to complete the project. • Ability to direct and train lower-level technicians. • Understanding the definition of a complete project  All devices installed and tested.  Customer training  Panel neatly dressed and all cables labeled. • Ability to understand and complete job specific paperwork.  JSA  Safety reports  Weekly progress reports  As built drawing.  Effective and professional email • Basic understanding of Plan Grid and related jobsite software • Complete understanding of blueprints and related architectural symbols • Effective time management  Know the hours allotted for the assigned project.  Ability to manage the time of each lower-level technician.  Lead by example  Punctuality • Complete all tasks proficiently.
