Zen Budo Karate is looking for people with some experience in martial arts (any martial art is okay) to teach basic introductory Karate Classes at local area schools. Pay is between $50/$70 per class. Successful applicants must be 18+ years old, and must pass criminal background checks. Classes start when schools end (around 2-3PM) and are one hour, though logistics (taking kids to classroom, getting ready for class and ending class) mean that actual workout time is around 45 Minutes. Work can be anything from one day a week (Wednesdays, for instance) or all five days (Mon-Fri). We are more interested in candidates that can work more locations. Locations are in Arlington schools, we are looking for people that are close to those schools as it is a difficult area to commute to. College students from local colleges are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be trained in two sessions for the basic course, and they can also teach other techniques and do martial arts related activities at their discretion. Experience working with children (babysitter, summer camps, assistant teacher), or running an extracurricular activity with kids and so forth is highly desirable.
