This is a great '61 VW Beetle convertible with a lot invested. I have other priorities and am letting it go at a low price. Matching VIN on body and chassis 6 volt, very peppy 1200 motor and excellent transmission Very good body and floors, which were replaced Very nice white beige paint work; basically, the car was stripped and painted --exterior, interior doors and panels, and inside front hood and motor compartment All four inner wheel housings were also newly painted New marine blue seat upholstery and door panels; very attractive color combination with the marine blue on the exterior white beige Excellent seat integrity with very good original springs & horse hair Please note that there is a good original convertible top frame on the car that goes up and down easily, but a new conv top has not been installed. There is a new black convertible top boot on the car that looks very good. So unless you plan to drive the car in the cold, rain or snow, etc., why bother with the expense and upkeep of a new conv top? Just have the top down and use the boot. The car looks great like this! New distributor, rebuilt carburetor New spark plugs just installed and valve adjustment just done. The motor fires right up on a cold start. Working gauges, including new fuel gauge with working light and new fuel sending unit New turning signal assembly Working front and rear lights, brake lights, high beams and blinkers Working horn Nice early Sapphire radio installed; not tested or connected; a current sound system could be installed elsewhere on the car New antenna New exterior rear view mirror New windshield wipers and arms; and new exterior windshield water jet installed (between the wipers); these can be optionally connected New oval horn grills near headlights A lot of new glass ---windshield and door and vent windows The front and rear windows go up and down easily New shocks and tires installed a 2 - 3 years ago with less than 200 miles Correct 5-lug wheels, including correct spare wheel and tire New hub caps Nice steering wheel and working horn ring Correct early '60s front hood with new Wolfsburg crest near hood handle As I said, I have other priorities and am letting it go at a low price; this is an excellent opportunity to get into a great classic beetle, to hold onto and enjoy, or to resell for a very good return. If you are interested and can afford the car, send me your phone number and I’ll call you Thanks for taking a look.
