Store hours are 8am-6pm Monday-Friday and 9am-5pm Saturday. Closed on Sunday. In addition to hours during the week, some Saturday availability maybe required. SUMMARY: Provide customers with efficient and effective service to exceed expectations while promoting products and services to meet their needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Greet customers in a friendly manner • Be knowledgeable of products and services offered and promote them to customers. • Identify customer needs and offer services which could benefit them. • Assist customers in their shipping/mailing needs offering service options: (USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL) • Properly pack contents for shipping • Assist customers in their office service needs such as faxing/scanning/printing/binding • Take passport photos for customers requiring this service • Perform fingerprinting services for electronic and ink card submissions • Record all sales transactions completely and accurately in Point of Sale (POS)system. • Assist in merchandising the store, including: stocking shelves with product, ensuring clean and orderly appearance of product, informing appropriate personnel of inventory levels for re-ordering supplies. • Perform end of day duties: reconciliation of cash, checks, credit cards, and all other transactions accurately • General housekeeping duties. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Customer service and sales experience in a retail environment is desirable Possess basic computer knowledge and experience (ie. Use of MS Word is helpful) Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to lift 40 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Farmstand Crew needed! Hutchins Farm is seeking motivated, outgoing individuals to work in our busy Farm Stand and Farmers’ Market stalls. Work involves washing and preparing produce for sale, building displays, creating signage, ringing up customers and keeping our sales area clean and welcoming. Friendly, helpful demeanor is a must; interest in local, organic food and retail experience are desirable. Applicants should be able to lift 50+ lbs, and be able to stand for long periods of time. Our farmstand is open now through the first weekend in November. Applicants should be willing to commit to working at least one weekend day, preferably both. Full-time preferred, part-time possible–exact hours will depend on specific job description. Farm stand workdays begin at 9am or 10am depending on the shift and end around 3:30pm or 6:30pm depending on the shift, with an unpaid hour for lunch. Farmers’ Market hours vary by the day. Hutchins Farm is one of the oldest and largest certified organic vegetable, fruit, and cut flower operations in Massachusetts. Organic since 1973, Hutchins grows over 40 acres of vegetables, about an acre of small fruit, half an acre of cut flowers, and 4 acres of apples.
