Description

[Please email only for the initial exchanges, as I am out of the country.] Adobe casita plus optionally other structures needing work, on 72-acre property ca. 45min east of Santa Fe, off I-25. Available around the end of February, possibly sooner. You must be able to live on the property without my assistance and be used to off-grid water systems. The casita has 3 bedrooms (one with a bathtub(!)), 1 bathroom with shower, loft; fireplace, propane heaters for water and the rooms; refrigerator, washer; septic tank A small studio goes with the casita: adobe, small loft; cast iron stove; not designed as a living space, but can be used as an extra bedroom for the casita. I would prefer someone who will also invest in, and make use of, at least some of the following structures on the property: - big studio: one big space designed as residential; loft; cast iron stove, small refrigerator, small freezer; toilet; shower; needs a lot of work, especially the kitchen space, to become usable; septic tank (shared with the mobile) - barn: wooden, with loft; needs some work to become usable (workspace, storage etc.) - mobile home: converted mobile home with a porch & built-in bathtub added; I keep this for myself, but can be repurposed, e.g. for growing vegetables, water plants etc.; needs much work - shed: stuff and junk from the mobile home was taken there; it must be emptied to become usable - trailer: if the mobile home is repurposed, I will use this for myself; otherwise it can be used for storage; old refrigerator working as a freezer At least two spots on the lower property can be used for campers, trailers, etc. In the aerial view, the casita and small studio are marked in yellow, and the red arrow points to a house (on higher ground than the rest of the property). The trailer is to the right of the yellow mark, farther right but not shown in the photo is the barn. The structures visible at the bottom are, from left to right, the big studio, the mobile home, and the shed. The residential units are not within sight of one another. Terms: - 6-month up to one-year basis, renewable - $1000 monthly rent plus utilities (propane, electricity, and internet; water is included in the electric) - $1000 security deposit due upon committing - background check - proof of stable income / cash flow - highly desirable: contact info of at least one recent reference - liability waiver for hazards (loose rocks, wildlife etc.) Access to affordable qualified labor (electricity, plumbing, construction) is a must, as I normally don't live on the property. The costs of any repairs in the casita will be deducted from the rent, but should not exceed $300 per month.
