Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose conditions. Administer vaccinations and medications as needed. Perform surgical procedures with precision and care. Provide emergency care for critically ill or injured animals. Utilize animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animal and staff during examinations and treatments. Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology and documentation practices. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventative health measures. Collaborate with main Dr., veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver comprehensive care. Stay current on advancements in veterinary medicine, including animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution. Proven veterinary experience with a focus on critical care preferred. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common diseases. Proficiency in animal handling techniques for various species including dogs and equines. Experience with laboratory procedures related to diagnostics in veterinary medicine. Familiarity with aseptic techniques during surgical procedures is essential. Ability to perform animal catheterization when necessary. Experience in pet grooming is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
