We are pleased to announce an opening position in the Outpatient Department at Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. Currently Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is recruiting for a Per Diem Outpatient Adolescent Therapist for After School Program, Monday through Friday 3pm - 9pm, no weekends. The Outpatient Therapist will report directly to the Director of Outpatient Services. The Outpatient department affects the treatment provided to our patients in an outpatient setting. The Outpatient Therapist, will be responsible for clinical treatment for patients receiving treatment for psychiatric, and substance abuse issues. Our vision is to be passionate about the quality of behavioral healthcare services delivered by compassionate people to those in need of mental health help and to ensure each person receives the most appropriate clinical level and type of psychiatric care. We are looking for a detail oriented, compassionate, and flexible self-starter, who enjoys being part of a dynamic team of clinicians. Responsibilities include: Conducts psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus. Participates in the formulation of patient's treatment plans, including the establishment of treatment goals and objectives. Monitors and documents patient's progress in achieving treatment goals and objectives in group notes, as well as through individual and family sessions. Assess patients for suicidality (Columbia Scale) Complete admission documentation for Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) stepdown and direct patients Performs initial intake patient assessments to determine eligibility for treatment within Outpatient Services Facilitate group, individual and family therapy sessions Document all patient interactions as per HBHH standards of care Make outreach calls to parents/patients as needed regarding continuum of care including treatment and safety planning, discharge planning and crisis intervention Assist in crisis management of patients and appropriately staff with clinical treatment team Maintains a good working relationship within the department and other departments Communicates appropriately and clearly to the Outpatient Director, and outpatient department staff Provides a safe environment for patients and outpatient staff Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situation Complete weekly chart audits Attend weekly clinical treatment team meetings as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team Complete progress notes and discharge plans in a timely fashion and according to CMS and Jcaho standards of care Consult with Outpatient Director regarding lengths of stay for patients Performs related duties, as requested. Requirements Preferably bilingual - Must have a Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work. (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-A in clinical supervision with experience) - Experience in psychiatric setting a minimum of 1 year. - Commensurate with experience. Benefits 401-K Plan
