Description

I'm a female environmentally conscious artist with a disability in need of assistance with personal care and daily activities. I am looking for caring people to work in a calm and peaceful environment. My hobbies include houseplants, gardening, pressing flowers, mixing herbs and essential oils, beads and collages. My cross streets are Southern and Extension in West Mesa. 1.) MORNINGS: Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm. *It may be possible to change this to Sunday and Monday 2.) EVENING: The evening shift is from 8 pm to 11 pm. There are two positions available. The first is Saturday through Tuesday. The second is Wednesday through Friday. *During the hiring process it may be possible to change how the days are split up. MORNING POSITION. The main duties are as follows: Simple bathing as needed, getting me dressed and up using a Hoyer lift. Preparing the day's meals, assisting with breakfast, light house cleaning and hopefully some great conversations. As time allows some of the other duties may include: cooking, checking emails, researching on the internet, online ordering and assisting with my hobbies. EVENING POSITION. The main duties are as follows: Hoyer lift transfer from wheelchair to bed, assisting with dinner, undressing, bowel care and partial bathing and hopefully some great conversation. As time allows some of the other duties may include: light massage on feet and legs, laundry, light house cleaning and assisting with my hobbies. Because of the personal nature of the job, I am looking for female caregivers only. I realize the questions in the following section are personal and may sound invasive to some, so please excuse me for asking them. I need to do so because I'm very sensitive to a lot of man-made chemicals used in personal care and household products, especially those used to create fragrance. Essential oils and other plant-based botanicals may be okay. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about this. IMPORTANT: For your application to be considered please specifically answer each of the questions below: 1. Do you smoke cigarettes? 2. Do you wear man-made perfume or scented body care products on a regular basis? 3. Do you use air fresheners or incense in your home or car? 4. Do you currently use scented laundry products? 5. Do you have your own washer and dryer? If so, can it be solely devoted to unscented products during your employment here? 6. What are your cross streets and city? 7. Do you have dependable transportation? This is a relaxed and informal atmosphere. I have deep respect for caregivers and you will be greatly appreciated here. * Good verbal and communication skills in English are required. * You must be reliable, thorough, able to keep a clean environment and have dependable transportation. Serious replies only, no inquiries about temporary work, please. I'm looking for a few great people who plan on staying a while. Thank you, Valerie
