All Souls Tortilleria Tortilla Bakery Crew COMPANY OVERVIEW All Souls Tortilleria is a Vermont-based food business using nixtamalization and stone-grinding to make delicious corn tortillas and fresh masa. We source organic corn for a high quality, nutrient-dense product. We also make fried chips and fresh flour tortillas in a separate bakery, also in the Old North End of Burlington. Each crew member needs to become proficient at each production step in the bakery, with the ability to move from one station to the next. This job requires working well with others in a hot environment and work days ranging from 6-10 hours. Employees must be able to lift 30 lbs regularly, must be punctual and detail-oriented. Experience in kitchens and familiarity with kitchen hygiene and sanitation protocols is preferred. PRODUCTION DUTIES COULD INCLUDE Prepping Work Space and Equipment and maintaining orderliness Grinding Masa and Making Dough Tortilla Oven Cook Tortilla Counting and Packaging Preparing finished Product for Order Fulfillment Cleaning WORK LOAD Currently All Souls Tortilleria is looking to hire Production Crew for 2-4 days a week (Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays) with potential to increase days and time in the future. COMPENSATION ​$18/hr or more depending on skills​,​ prior experience​, and job position​. Base training pay of $18/hr for ​Production Crew ​initial training period. Starry Night Cafe, located between Middlebury and Burlington, is looking for a detail-oriented individual(s) to join our team as the expeditor / food runner. The responsibilities of the food expeditor include maintaining the flow of orders from waiters to the kitchen to diners, ensuring orders are completed quickly and correctly, assisting with the finishing touches on dishes, running food and conducting quality control on each dish. You will work in a fast-paced environment to get proper orders out quickly and more efficiently. You must have enough stamina to be in constant motion and skills to coordinate and organize processes and people. Previous experience in a restaurant is ideal but we are always willing to train the right candidate. The ability to keep cool under stress and maintain excellent communication skills is important. This person(s) will be well organized with the ability to lead and direct people while accomplishing multiple tasks simultaneously. The expeditor is the conductor of the kitchen! Schedule: -Wednesday through Sunday shifts available - 4:00 Start Time (perfect for an afternoon gig) (**We do our last seating at 8pm so there are no super late nights here!)
