Description

The Head Baker position requires experience, creativity, intelligence, professionalism, passion, etc…but you already knew that because you’re the right person for the job. A little tongue in cheek there, but the sentiment is real. We are looking for someone who can lead and collaborate with pastry and baked goods at the same time. Peck’s and Peckish have been baking popular treats in house for 13 years, and a fresh set of eyes would be welcomed. I do not believe in ideal candidates because sometimes the resume doesn’t tell the full story. I would like a baker who has moved up the ranks at a well-regarded establishment and helped develop recipes and flavors. A baker who can straddle confidence and humility with aplomb. Look, there is a lot of stuff to think about in this crazy messed up world that can stress you out, but it would be great to find a baker who finds the time to look at other bakeries’ menus and reads cookbooks to find the inspiration that is out the in the world. This is not a cookie cutter ad for a job that is not cookie cutter. We want to take our time to find the right individual for our business, because the position is very important to us. Many on our team have been here over 5 years because we strive hard to create a pleasant atmosphere because why make baking a miserable experience? We look forward to your application. Please include a cover letter (no chat GPT) with your resume.
